Headers are one of the easiest bolt-on accessories you can use to improve an engine's performance. The goal of headers is to make it easier for the engine to push exhaust gases out of the cylinders by eliminating the back pressure. Headers eliminate this pressure by providing an exhaust pipe for each cylinder. These pipes are bent and sized to make each cylinder have the same pressure. These pipes then come together in a collector in an arrangement that maintains this low or no back pressure performance.
