C3 Corvettes 1968-1982 for Sale
The years 1968-1982 represented the Third Generation or C3 Corvette. 1968 started off a new design for Corvettes with a design that was called the “Shark”. These Corvettes started with the Chrome bumpers on the front and rear and then giving way to the urethane bumpers starting in 1973. In 1974 they had “soft” bumpers on the front and rear. There were special versions in these years with the 1978 25th Silver Anniversary and the 1978 Pace Car, along with the 1982 Collector Edition. Performance started with the continuation of the 327 and 427 engines then up to the 454cu engine. However, at this time the industry changed the HP calculation and the insurance industry called for a reduction in HP leading to a drop from the 1968 with a 427cu 435hp engine down to the 1974 with a 454cu 270hp engine and then to the 1981 with a 350cu 190hp engine.
