The Chevelle The Chevelle was introduced in 1964 as Chevy’s mid size car, originally with a standard 6 cylinder and optional V8, in 1965 the first SS hit the market optional V8 engines grew from the 283 to the ultimate LS6 454/450 HP in 1970. After that the Chevelle/Malabo line continued into the 1980's.
